لَمَّا إِنَّ وَمَا لِے عَلَيْكُم مِّن اِلَّآ أَن لِے فَلَا مَّآ أَنَا وَمَآ أَنتُم إِنِّے بِمَآ مِن إِنَّ لَهُمْ

And Satan saith, when the matter hath been decided: Lo! Allah promised you a promise of truth; and I promised you, then failed you. And I had no power over you save that I called unto you and ye obeyed me. So blame not, but blame yourselves. I cannot help you, nor can ye help me, Lo! Shaykh Ibrāhīm Niasse (d. 1975) read the whole Qurʾān aloud at Medina Baye over fifty-six sessions between ẓuhr and ʿaṣr in Ramaḍān 1383/1964, and his students wrote those sessions down as Fī Riyāḍ al-Tafsīr. The āya above is Warsh ʿan Nāfiʿ, the rasm of the printed edition. The root behind each underlined word comes from a Ḥafṣ ʿan ʿĀṣim corpus, realigned to this Warsh text word by word; 125 of the 6,236 āyāt differ in word count between the two riwāyāt, and those were aligned rather than assumed. A word carries no underline where the corpus supplies no root. Lexicon entries are a reading aid and carry no page reference; the edition does not cite them. أَمْ صَبَرْنَا مَا لَنَا مِن مَّحِيصٖۖ ) لما كانوا في العذاب تواصوا على البكاء فبكوا آلاف السنين ما نفع ذلك، فتواصوا على الصبر قالوا: المسلمون وجدوا ما وجدوا بالصبر فلنصبر، فصبروا ما نفع شيئا، قالوا «سَوَآءُُ عَلَيْنَآ أَجَزِعْنَا أَمْ صَبَرْنَا مَا لَنَا مِنْ مَحِصٍ) 1 لأنهم قالوا سَوَآءُُ عَلَيْنَا أَوَعَظتَ أَمْ لَمْ تَكُنْ مِنَ الوَاعِظِين" (وَقَالَ اَ۬لشَّيْطَٰنُ) لما دخل أهل النار النار وأهل الجنة الجنة، إبليس هو قائد أهل النار، نصب له كرسي من النار في وسط الجحيم فوقف على منبره يخطب ( لَمَّا قُضِيَ اَ۬لَامْرُ) ودخل أهل الجنة الجنة وأهل النار النار (إِنَّ اَ۬للَّهَ وَعَدَكُمْ وَعْدَ اَ۬لْحَقِّ ) هذه خطبة إبليس: إن اللّٰه وعدكم بالبعث والجزاء وقال الحق ( ووَعَدَتُّكُمْ) غير كائن (فَأَخْلَفْتُكُمْ) وعدتكم كذبا فاليوم أخلفتكم (وَمَا كَانَ لِي عَلَيْكُم مِن سُلْطَٰنٍ)، لا تلوموني لا قوة لي أقهركم على متابعتي إنما كان حلا لكم سبيلي فقط فاتبعتموني ( اِلَّآ) لكن (أَن أَن دَعَوْتُكُمْ …

سَوَآءُ عَلَيْنَا أَجَزِعْنَآ أَمْ صَبَرْنَا مَا لَنَا مِن مَّحِيصٌ" قال يقول أهل النار: هلموا فلنصبر قال: (فصبروا خسمائة عام)، فلما رأوا ذلك لا ينفع قالوا: هلموا فلنجزع قال: (فيبكون خمسمائة عام) فلما راوا ذلك لا ينفعهم قالوا "سَوَآءُُ عَلَيْنَا أَجَزِعْنَا أَمْ صَبَرْنَا مَا لَنَا مِن مَّحِيصٍ". رقم الحديث (709011)
