Sūrat Al-Anʿām · 6 : 14

وَهُوَ وَلَا اِنِّيَ أَنَ مَنَ وَلَا مِنَ

Say: Shall I choose for a protecting friend other than Allah, the Originator of the heavens and the earth, Who feedeth and is never fed? Say: I am ordered to be the first to surrender (unto Him). And be not thou (O Muhammad) of the idolaters — Pickthall

The āya above is Warsh ʿan Nāfiʿ, the rasm of the printed edition. The root behind each underlined word comes from a Ḥafṣ ʿan ʿĀṣim corpus, realigned to this Warsh text word by word; 125 of the 6,236 āyāt differ in word count between the two riwāyāt, and those were aligned rather than assumed. A word carries no underline where the corpus supplies no root. Lexicon entries are a reading aid and carry no page reference; the edition does not cite them. عره (كَتَبَ) قضى ( عَلَىٰ نَجْيِهِ الرَّحْمَةَ) فضلا منه وفيه تلطف في دعائهم إلى الإيمان ( يُحَتَعَكُمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْم الْفِيّمَةِ) ليجازيكم (ولا رَيْبَ مِيهِ الذِيَ خَسِرَوَا أَنْجَسَهَم فَهَمْ لا يومِنَونَ وَقْد مَا سَكّرَ فِي اِليْلِ وَالتَّهارِ) كل شيء، فهو ربه وخالقه ومالكه. قال في بداية السورة اخَلْقَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ» هذا المكان، المكان السماوات والأرض «وَلَهُد مَا سَكَرَ مِيِ إِلِيْلِ وَالنَّهارِ) هذا الزمان. استغرق الزمان والكائن في الزمان، والمكانَ والكائنَ في المكان، كل هذا له تبارك وتعالى (وَهُوَ السَّمِيع الْعَلِيمُ فُلَ آغَيْرَ اللَّهِ أَتَّخِذُ وَلِيّأ أعبدُه (قَاطِرِ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأرْض) مبدعهما (وَهُوَ يُطْعِمْ) يرزق (وَلا يُطْعَمْ ) لا يُرزَق {فُلِ إِنّيَ أُمِرْتُ أَنَ آكُونَ أَوَل مَنَ اسْلَمْ) لله قال المفسر: من هذه الأمة1، (وَ) قيل لي (لا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْشْرِكِينَ) به فُلِ إِنَّى أَخَافُ إِنْ عَصَيْتُ رَبِّى عَذَابَ يَوْمِ عَظِيمٌ) هو يوم القيامة (مَنْ …
